Up until now, the weather has still felt fairly summery, which is why it might come as a surprise to look at the calendar and realize it’s already October. That’s right — we’re firmly into the fall season, and cooler days are coming. That means it’s time for tossing on a hoodie, carving up a pumpkin, sipping some cider, and telling ghost stories.

If that sounds like your idea of a good time, then you’re in luck, because we’ve drawn up a list of 14 can’t-miss fall festivals happening within a half hour’s drive. They have all kinds of autumnal activities that are great for the entire family.
