Sailor Oyster Bar suffered a fire on June 8, 2022. We still don't know how much the damage will cost but we know they'll be closed for a while. Here's how you can help—from tee shirts and tattoos to GoFundMe's and Garry's Grill.
Don't give up the ship!
It's no secret Sailor Oyster Bar is my favorite spot in town. We already had these shirts made and planned to sell them as merch. But when Sailor caught fire, the timing was perfect for a fundraiser. All of the profits from these 100% organic cotton tees are going to SOB employees.
Orders for Scoop shirts are now closed. We can't wait to share how many we sold!
Blk Ankr Originals is known for their unique designs made for Annapolis' coolest bands, restaurants, and parades. When Sailor caught fire, owner Matthew Reese jumped into action and whipped up this shirt. $15 from every shirt goes to Sailor fire relief and they're printed right here in Annapolis.
Sailor owner Scott Herbst used to work at Heroes Pub and they consider him part of the family. So they're doing a couple things.
First is a HUGE raffle. So huge we can't even list all the prizes here. Seriously. At last count they had 54 restaurants donating gift cards. And they sold 1,000 tickets in 2 days. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by via Venmo. Just venmo @Lila-beall (she owns Heroes) a multiple of $10 (depending on how many tickets you want to buy) with SOB and your phone number in the caption. Good luck! Check Lila's Facebook to see what you can win.
Second is a special fundraiser on June 20. They'll be collecting even more donations for the monster raffle and will have some extra special musical guests. The party starts at 5 PM. See you there.

Stop by Tsunami at 10 PM on June 25. They've lined up DJ Seance, drink specials, raffles, and a photo booth all to benefit Sailor. Come dressed to impress! This is a prom after all.

Details on this one are sparse at the moment. If you love European bistros and Sailor Oyster Bar, mark your calendar for July 21.
On Thursday, June 16, Garry's Grill is donating 20% of their sales to Sailor Oyster Bar. Allow my to recommend the Boursin bacon burger. Yum...

Donnelly's Dockside is selling dollar oysters on Wednesday, June 22 and donating all proceeds to Sailor employees.

Locally-raised artist Julia Deckman is knocking it out of the park in South Carolina now. But her heart is still in Annapolis. Julia released her Annapolis hospitality series back in March. But when she heard about the fire, she converted the SOB piece into a fundraiser. Proceeds from the prints will go to SOB employees.
Note: This is a pre-order and prints may take up to 4 months to ship.
Sailor people like tattoos. I bet you can't guess who Sailor owner Scotty is in the picture below.
So what better way to support Sailor than getting a tattoo? Lovestruck Tattoo is donating their talents to the cause on June 18. From 5 to 10 PM, they're doing a special set of SOB tattoos (below) and donating all proceeds to SOB employees.
Tattoos will cost between $80 and $100, can only be done on arms and legs, and must be paid in cash. First come, first served! Masks are required.
