Introducing: Anchors Aweigh

While the Navy Football Podcast focuses on football, Anchors Aweigh covers all Naval Academy sports. Joining Bill Wagner to host Anchors Aweigh is Pete Medhurst – AKA the Voice of Navy Athletics. Pete has been Navy’s go-to play-by-play announcer since 1997. He’s got an amazing radio voice and his knowledge of Navy Sports is almost unparalleled. The only person who rivals Pete’s experience will be sitting across from him in the Anchors Aweigh studio.

Bill Wagner has been the Capital Gazette/Baltimore Sun Navy sports beat writer for almost 30 years. In his first season, Navy fired head football Charlie Weatherbie. A turbulent start, but Bill proved more than up for the job. Almost 30 years (and three other head coaches) later, nobody covers Navy sports better than Bill.

Bill started the Navy Football Podcast three years ago to complement his excellent written journalism. To make the show even better, he brought on former Navy football players Keenan Reynolds and Eric Kettani, two of the greatest players of the triple-option era who both went on to play in the NFL. The unique combination of press box and on-field experience makes their weekly pre and post-game analysis second to none.
