There's something whimsical about shopping at a market. It feels like going back intime. And in this world of extreme speed and efficiency, that's a rare feeling.
And of course, market goods usually knock the socks off anything you can get at the grocery store.
Here's a list of the best markets in Annapolis.

When you need to get seafood, this is the place. Over its 40 year life, it's become known for the freshest seafood on the Chesapeake Bay. And it's family owned and operated.
Annapolis Seafood Market gets their fish days before the grocery store. They'll tell you where it comes from, how to prepare it, and even cook it for you!
They're so confident you'll love it, that all products are unconditionally guaranteed. If you don't like it they'll refund it, exchange it, or issue store credit. Just make sure you have proof of sale.
Also be sure to check out the takeout menu.

The Pennsylvania Dutch Farmers' Market is a local treasure. And while it's in the Harbor Center, all Amish merchants are from Lancaster, PA—heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country.
Their product list is tantalizing and extensive:
If you're still hungry there's a restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features classic Pennsylvania Dutch recipes. They do takeout as well.
And for your home, Millwood Furniture has a full selection of handcrafted furniture. If you want something that's not in the store, it can be custom made by craftsman in Lancaster County.

Italian food is the most popular food in the world I don't know of a more idyllic food. Imagine you have a glass of Sangiovese on a Tuscan balcony overlooking a vineyard. The smell of fresh pasta wafts out from the kitchen. What other food has that power to transport you?
The Italian Market features over 300 authentic Italian products. They've got basic stuff like sauces and pasta but also specialty items you can only find in Italy. Mozzarella is made fresh every morning and they have many exclusive Italian cheeses.
You likely won't have heard of any of their pasta producers. Two of them make pasta within a national park in the Apennine Mountains. One uses bronze cutting dies because it's the only way to get the right texture.
They also have a certified sommelier and wines from all 20 regions of Italy. A couple times a year they even have wine dinners with the actual winemakers from Italy.
If cooking isn't your thing, check out their restaurant or catering menus.

The Anne Arundel Farmers' Market is a year round melting pot of fresh local produce, food, and artisan goods. Here's a list of vendors.
