One month ago in Tennessee, for the first time ever, a woman finished perhaps the most challenging running race in the world, the Barkley Marathons. And in about one month in Annapolis, many people will compete in what Runner’s World calls "the least challenging athletic event ever conceived."
While some participants leisurely stroll for five minutes or more, many will finish in about 1 minute. The adventure kicks off on the Annapolis side of the Spa Creek Bridge. It's a casual ascent, nothing too taxing, just a gentle rise of a few meters. Then, it's all smooth sailing as you make your way down into the scenic Maritime Republic of Eastport. Easy-peasy, right? Here’s everything you need to know.
📅 Date: Saturday, May 11
🕛 Time: Day-of registration begins at 10 AM. Race starts at noon
📍 Registration Location: Long & Foster, Eastport side of the bridge
🎉 After Party: O'Learys Seafood Restaurant, 12:30–3 PM
👕 Registration Fee: $30 (includes t-shirt)
🍺 First 100 Registrants: Receive a free beer from Annapolis Beer Company!
