Coffee. I know basic. BUT coffee has so much opportunity. Coffee can lead to lunch or dinner that evening. It can lead to a walk in the park or drinks that night. Coffee is the perfect first date to use as a springboard into something great. Or if it doesn’t go well, it can be a quick one!

What is something people don't know about you?

While I’m very much an open book, a couple things people don’t know about me is I have tried almost every Ben and Jerry’s flavor to date. I judge how good of a restaurant is solely based on their nachos. I’m incredibly observant, sometimes to a fault.

What are you passionate about?

Serving underprivileged youth. I come from a background where we didn’t have much and had to improvise. I understand very much what it’s like to not have. I am a music teacher at a title one school in Annapolis, where the demographic is 95% spanish-speaking students and student who come from generational poverty and broken homes.  My students are my world. Connection and relationships are two of the biggest things that I preach about to my kids (students). I make it my duty to provide them with a music education that explores much more than the county’s curriculum. We talk, we cry, we connect. We understand each other and we appreciate other cultures and differences. These kids are brilliant and creative and so so funny. It’s not their fault where they come from but I will make it my mission to make sure that they are loved, cared for and respected while they are in my care.

Making people feel comfortable and welcome. One of my favorite things to do is share the water and Annapolis with people and make sure they feel comfortable and fall I love with our waterways and area.
